Snyder seeks Republican at-large seat on Johnson County Council

FRANKLIN, IN -- Loren A. Snyder, Franklin, has announced his candidacy for an at-large seat on the Johnson County Council. He has filed to be on the Republican ballot for the May 8, 2012 primary election.

Snyder earlier made the announcement to family and friends gathered at Hillview Country Club in Franklin.

A financial advisor with Hilliard Lyons in Franklin, Snyder has served in leadership capacities with several community organizations and says he wants to be part of the next generation of leadership in the county.

"With my strong background in finance, I believe I can be an asset to the County Council during the difficult financial situation our county and country has faced over the past couple of years and will continue to face in the future," Snyder said.

While completing his bachelor's degree in finance at Butler University, Snyder served an internship with U.S. Senator Richard Lugar, R-Indiana.

"The experience I had while in Washington D.C. -- combined with my passion for my community -- has encouraged me to get involved with our county’s Republican Party and political system," Snyder said.

Snyder currently serves on the boards of the Johnson County Community Foundation, the Johnson Memorial Hospital Foundation, the Franklin Community Schools Education Foundation, Franklin Rotary Club and Leadership Johnson County. He has served on committees for the Elks Lodge of Franklin, the Humane Society of Johnson County and Study Connections. He is a graduate of Franklin Community Schools.

"I will bring a new and fresh perspective to our county. I have a strong interest in seeing our county thrive in the future as I plan to raise my family and run my business right here in Johnson County," Snyder said.
